Love Your Enemies

by | Jun 14, 2010 | Bible Study

(PART 1)

It is difficult to forgive other people for their failures. But when Jesus tells us to love our enemies, He will give us the love that He demands.

READ: Matt. 5:21-22; Matt. 6:14-15; Mark 11:25-26; Rom. 5:5; 1 John 3:1-3; 1 John 1:7-9.
HEART ISSUE: Have you ever been betrayed or physically hurt by someone? Will you let Jesus help you forgive him or her?
PRAYER FOCUS: Lord Jesus, I am willing to forgive people who have failed or hurt me, but I can’t do it on my own. Please make me a woman of mercy and help me to remember Your great mercy toward me. Amen.

(PART 2)

The Scriptures tell us that at the end of the age, many people will be filled with hatred. As believers, we must be cleansed from all bitterness so we can stand victoriously with our Lord Jesus.

READ: Matt. 5:44-48; Matt. 10:21-23; Matt. 24:10-14; Luke 6:27-28; Rom. 12:20-21; Titus 3:1-7.
HEART ISSUE: Do you pray for people who are hateful toward you?
PRAYER FOCUS: Father, help me to be a beacon of light and love as the end of the age draws near. Grant me Your gift of mercy for those who are my enemies. Amen.
