Prophetic Word: In These Last Days, the Lord Says to Redeem Your Time

Recently, this word of the Lord came to me: “I am awakening My people to be redeemers of time.”

“[F]or the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, ‘Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.’ So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days” (Eph. 5:14-16).

How are we to redeem the time in these last days?

As I have been in prayer this season, studying and waiting on the Lord, He has placed upon my heart strategic prayer points and keys for redeeming the time in our nation as well as in the church. I pray this helps you through these troubling times.

1. Know God’s will. If we are to redeem the time, we must know what the will of the Lord is. Jesus came to reveal to us God’s will; He came to redeem the day by being a light bearer.

What is the will of the Lord for America? What is the will of the Lord for God’s church? What is the will of the Lord for your life? It’s important that we ask ourselves these questions and receive the proper instruction from wise counsel that comes through the Holy Spirit. It’s important that we have others around us who understand the will of the Lord and declare it.

2. Declare who God is. We redeem the time by what we declare—that this is the Lord’s day.

“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Ps. 118:24).

We must be a people that declare who God is. We must be a people that declare: This is the Lord’s day, and not the enemy’s.

3. Understand that Jesus came to redeem the time. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:18-19).

Jesus was anointed to preach the year of Jubilee. He came to preach a word that would set the captives free; a word that would heal God’s people. It was a word that said, This is the day of freedom for you! He was anointed to redeem the time by bringing heaven to earth.

4. Bring forth the testimony of Jesus. We are commissioned to be ambassadors of His kingdom and transform the earth by bringing forth the testimony of Jesus! The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy (Rev. 19:10). The testimony of Jesus imparts life, hope and love to the earth.

5. We must awaken. Awaken means “to stir up or produce” and “to wake from sleep.” God desires for us to wake up from our spiritual slumber and passiveness, and to shake off that which has caused us to fall sleep. Let Isaiah 60 be your portion this year: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you” (Isa. 60:1-2).

6. Put on light. The Bible speaks of the armor of light. Those who walk in the light have no condemnation. Those who walk in the light, walk in forgiveness. Those who walk in the light, the enemy cannot reach. The light surrounds those who are submitted to the Lord; the light becomes a shield.

In God’s light, we see light. Truths are revealed as we are in that place of the light. We must be faithful watchmen in prayer for the saints. God will always have a people, a remnant, to redeem the darkest of days, those who will bring light to the darkness; those who will be a voice to redeem the time, redeem wisdom, redeem a generation and redeem a nation.

7. Let God’s Word lead you. The light reveals what is in darkness. As we are navigating through so many changes in our society and culture, God’s Word remains the same. God’s Word will lead us through all the shifts and demonic agendas of the enemy that our society is faced with.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Heb. 13:8).

8. Use wisdom, be watchful and pray. Prayer empowers us to overcome temptation. We need strength to overcome sin, and unbelief is a sin as bitterness can be a sin. When we get wounded in the wilderness, we must look to the cross for healing so that we may keep enduring and enter into the promise.

Our adversary has schemes, but God gives us strategies. Using wisdom in our warfare today is essential. Be watchful and in prayer. God is preparing His army to fight the enemies of God, to be fully prepared in the armor of the Lord and sword of the Spirit. {eoa}
