Carlos Whittaker | Integrity Music

Carlos Whittaker is a veteran of worship ministry, having served at Sandals Church in Riverside, Calif., and Buckhead Church in Atlanta. On his new album, Ragamuffin Soul, he delivers 12 new songs with co-writes from Jason Ingram, Phillip Larue and Hillsong’s Mia Fieldes.

With a mellow and smooth tenor voice, Whittaker’s songs range from powerful worship anthems to more intimate ballads of faith. “Rain It Down” cries out for God’s presence. “Can’t Stop This Fight” is a catchy tune sure to become a favorite. “God of Second Chances” is a powerful reminder of God’s grace and mercy.

“No Words” is a call for believers to take action. “There are no new words we say that can impress God,” Whittaker says. “What impresses Him is the attitude of our hearts. The heart of a servant, being a true worshipper, so that our words or sounds are wrapped in obedience.”

Whittaker is already well-known through his blog, raggamuffinsoul.com. With his music, he wants to inspire a movement of authenticity among Christians. More than simply saying it, he’s leading the way. This album delivers songs of transparency and vulnerability and will encourage listeners no matter where they are in life.
