One of Eddie Long’s flock is planting a New Birth campus in Denver. New Birth Denver will open its doors in 65 days, just months after Long settled a sexual misconduct scandal in Atlanta.

“You heard it right. New Birth is coming to the Mile High City,” says Senior Pastor Darius Wise, who is heading up the Denver church plant, in a YouTube video (see below). Wise’s wife and four small children will join him in Denver.

“Over 20 years ago, the Lord called Bishop Long, my senior pastor, to pastor and shepherd a dynamic church and over the last 20 years the church’s reach has extended throughout the globe,” Wise says. “We are so excited and grateful to God that we see a door and an opportunity opening in Denver, Colorado.”

Wise has been featured in Upscale magazine as one of the “most powerful upcoming youth in the country.” He served in leadership responsibility over 27 ministries with a staff of 500 at New Birth in Georgia. Wise was also recognized as one of Atlanta’s “Top 30 under 30” in the Atlanta University Center magazine.

“Through much prayer and much consecration we sense and believe that God is up to something special in the Denver, Colorado, region and we are excited to be apart of it…” Wise says. “Our desire above all is to see lives won to Christ and to see the community made better because we are there.”
