With coronavirus chaos dominating the news every day, it’s crucial we remember the one thing that never changes—God’s truth.
My guest on my podcast today, Neill Russell, is a former science teacher and now leads many organizations, including a brand-new website that will teach the truth of God’s creation. It’s called godsgranddesign.com. The website dives deep into Genesis 1, which is really the basis of all truth. In recent decades, though, Satan has sought to undermine this book in an attempt to get people to abandon a biblical worldview.
Russell tells me that while he was still teaching science in school, he saw many children who were simply hungry for truth. One day, while eating at Panera Bread, he noticed a mother and daughter talking. He could tell from the little girl’s expression that she fully trusted her mother. Seeing that trusting relationship caused Russell to ask himself, Am I teaching 100% truth to my children in the classroom?
He realized the answer was no.
“[I said,] ‘Forgive me, Lord. I’ll be quiet no longer. Let the truth be known: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth,'” Russell says.
Russell cites a discouraging Gallup survey in 2017 that shows only 18% of U.S. adults believe God created human beings in their present form. Meanwhile, 81% believe humans evolved into what they are now. Of all respondents, 31% say humans evolved, but God had a role in it. Research seems to indicate that the number of people holding to a biblical view of creation is continuing to decline.
Russell says Christians must be on their guard about this trend. After all, Satan’s primary tool is deception—and he will do whatever he can to get Christians to doubt God’s Word.
“Satan knows all the tricks to deceive this world, and we’re seeing it right now,” he says. “But the No. 1 trick I’ve seen him do is that if you don’t believe the first sentence of the Bible—’In the beginning God created [the heavens and the earth]’—you’re not going to believe the rest of the book either.
“So when things happen, such as the stress of the coronavirus right now, do you have the peace that passes all understanding? Because if you know that God is your Creator, that God created everything and He will take care of you and that’s the reason you’re here, then you will have that peace. But Satan right now has gone throughout the world over the past 75 years, spreading the lies of evolution.”

Through videos and graphics on his site, he explains the scientific truth of what happened during the six days of creation and how 13.8 billion years’ worth of existence could be created in six literal days.

The book explores the prophetic notes of renowned scientist Sir Isaac Newton, who was actually a devout believer. In an alchemy journal, Newton wrote down what he thought would happen between Israel and the United States from a biblical perspective. Russell’s book is a fictional telling of what will happen between the two nations during the end times.
