The Call for Unity With Prophecy

When you’re in a fight, you don’t turn your back to the enemy. As soon as your back is turned, they can make a clean strike.

After the election in November of 2020, some of us as members of the body of Christ turned our backs. We stopped facing the devil and we started facing each other.

I heard a word from the Holy Spirit on the day I’m writing this. He simply said, “I’ve called you during this hour to unite prophetic voices in a way they’ve never been united before.”

I’m not going to make an argument for who is right and who is not. instead, the Lord is leading me to make an argument for unity despite our differences of belief.

Jesus says in Matthew 5:23-24 (NASB), “Therefore, if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there you remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.”

Our fellow believers are our brothers and sisters in Christ. Many opportunities for offense have arisen since the 2020 election and forgiveness has happened to an extent. In other ways, the division has grown worse.

We have carried our offenses with each other into the throne room of God and continued to offer our sacrifices upon the altar but our offenses are hindering us from the full intimacy and power Jesus longs for us to experience in Him. I hear the Holy Spirit saying, “I’m asking you to forgive. I’m asking you to let it go (talking about the offense). I’m asking you to go to those who hurt you and forgive them. I’m asking you to go to those you hurt and ask for forgiveness.”

Jesus says in John 13:35, “By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.”

We need to take examples from the believing Jews and Gentiles in the New Testament. Jesus does not expect us to agree on everything but He does expect us to walk in unity and love through the Holy Spirit.

This truth should humble us: “But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8). This commission should unite us: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15).

When we choose to divide over non-essential beliefs, we exalt our perspective above the perspective of Jesus. When the world sees that we can disagree and still love each other, then they will know that God is in our midst.

Ephesians 4:2-3 (NIV) says, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.”

We should not be throwing punches but instead take hands with those next to us. Our offenses have opened us up to attack. God is calling us to unite against the kingdom of darkness. We should not be looking for a fight in the kingdom of light. {eoa}
