Word From the Lord: It’s Time for Believers to Claim Our Authority

God has wanted His children to walk in their God-given authority from the beginning of creation. He has never meant for us to back down in the face of the enemy’s upheavals and threats. He has provided all that we need to move in our His authority and power. Unfortunately, many believers are not doing so. We are predestined to have victory in every situation. When we arise and take our rightful position in Christ, we will have victory over anything the enemy has placed in our way. As Scripture states in Romans 8:31-39, “we are more than conquerors.” Hallelujah! That was and is forevermore God’s plan for us! It is time for believers of Jesus Christ to arise and move in our God-given authority as priests and kings as we enter into this new time and season.

We find that many believers are not understanding their God-given authority. We still see believers begging God for things that he has already provided. My parents used to say to me when we went to someone’s house, “You are to be seen and not heard.” Unfortunately, that has been the way of the believers for years. It’s time to change that mindset, get the mind of Christ, and be “seen and heard” for Him and His kingdom.

God has given us authority over all things. At no point does God ever take back that authority. It is us that continuously refuse to walk in our authority and are constantly giving our authority to the enemy. Romans 8:17 (NIV) says, “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” That means that whatever authority Jesus had here on earth, we have the same authority. Jesus is the high priest, and He is our King. So, if Christ is a priest and a King, are we not also priests and kings?

Our “priestly authority” is when we are talking to our Father, praying and standing in the gap for others. Our priestly authority is when we are looking up to God. Most people are walking in this authority and neglect to walk in their kingly authority.

Our “kingly authority” is taking authority in our earthly kingdom. Many people understand the authority aspect, but they do not use the power assigned with it. That power is the power of the Holy Ghost that lives inside of us as believers of Christ. Jesus raised many from the dead. Jesus took control of the storm and healed the sick, and Jesus cast out demonic spirits. However, Jesus was not the only one in Scriptures to do that which scripturally proves that the believers have the same authority as Jesus. Jesus never prayed for healing or for an evil spirit to come out. He used His kingly authority and commanded healing and the spirits to come out. He commanded the storm to be calm. He commanded the fig tree to dry up. The Bible tells us what we speak, if we believe, it will be given unto us. The Bible tells us to speak to the mountain; it does not say pray over it or ask God to move it! It’s up to us to move the mountain.

God wants to use you mightily! We must stand in our kingly authority and stand from a position of victory to take back all the enemy has stolen from us. It’s already been won by Christ Jesus!
