Secrets to Finding God’s Purpose for Your Life

When a woman of God awakes each morning, heaven, earth and hell should take notice! She is a vital contributor to her community and a gatekeeper of her home. Her friends, co-workers and family feel secure in her presence; her church relies on her faithful service. Who is this supernatural woman? Not superwoman, supernatural woman! She understands the source of her strength. She humbly acknowledges her dependence on God and accepts the help of the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 31:30 tells us, “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.” What sets a woman of God apart is her fear of God. Her respect and reverence determine her actions, thoughts, priorities and words. When we do not understand our place in today’s society, as a woman of God, we will be overwhelmed by its demands.

When a woman pursues her purpose from the Word of God, she will do remarkable things! Many women base their decisions on earning acceptance and trying to please others. When our priorities are rooted in anything but the Word of God, we will be frustrated, weary and discouraged.

“There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the counsel of the Lord will stand” (Prov. 19:21). One of the secrets to finding God’s purpose is understanding your season of life. When my children were young, there were many demands on my time. I didn’t think the diaper season, the car pool or teenage upheaval would ever end. Then it seemed like all at once I found myself in a new season. God knows where you are!

Each season of your life has its own unique demands, opportunities and blessings. When we can look at our life in the light of the season we are in, we will be able to cope with the challenges of the season and appreciate the blessings.

“See then that you walk carefully, not as fools, but as wise men, making the most of the time because the days are evil” (Eph. 5:15-16). Time is your most valuable asset. Choice is your only true freedom. The choices you make regarding your time will have a great effect on you and your family.

Another secret I found in finding God’s purpose was investing a small amount of time over time brings increase. Investing small amounts of time over time in God’s Word builds your faith and prepares you for the unplanned detours in your life. Small deposits over time add up in areas that matter most like your peace, confidence and trust in God. It is better to take 10 or 30 minutes each day to read the Word of God consistently than to neglect the Word. Neglect brings decrease while investing small amounts consistently brings increase.

A woman of God who fears the Lord grows and walks naturally in her God-ordained purpose. Yes, there are going to be rough places. Women of God grace this world with sensitivity, insight and beauty which result in great accomplishments for God and mankind.

My last secret in finding my purpose was planning. Without planning you can very easily squander your valuable time. Set goals to reach your God-given purpose and potential. We are put on earth for a purpose, a purpose we cannot fulfill without Him. Growing in your faith brings joy, excitement and God’s abundant blessings.

Living on purpose brings a joyful expectation to each day! Don’t forget to take time to fellowship with your girlfriends in the Lord. A friend in the Lord is a joy to the heart!
