We live in perilous times. It’s easy to be afraid, especially for our children.

But God is not surprised by the times we live in. He has equipped us with everything we need to live on this earth in 2014, including protection.

You don’t have to be afraid! The Bible tells us we are safe in the Father’s care. All we have to do is keep our eyes on Him and believe what His Word has said. Here are some things to meditate on: Psalm 91 says that God is our refuge and our fortress. It says that angels guard us night and day, that bullets or bacteria can be all around us but it will not come near us! This whole chapter is great to read when you’re tempted to be afraid for your kids.

Isaiah 54:17 says no weapon formed against you or your children will prosper. That includes sickness, disease, physical harm, rejection or any other plot of the enemy.

Psalm 23 says that yes, we may walk through the valley of the shadow of death but we won’t fear any evil, because God Himself is with us, right beside us, protecting and caring for us until we come out the other side. His protection is sure.

Proverbs 18:10 says that the Name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous (that’s you and me and our kids) run into it and we are safe. Think about that!

Luke 10:19 says “Behold I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nothing!

James 4:7 tells us to “resist the devil and he will flee from us.” In a day and age when fear is running rampant, God tells us to resist it. Instead, read and meditate what God says about protection and safety, and choose to believe it.

Mark 5:36 says, “Fear not, only believe.” Don’t have fear, only have faith. And you know where faith comes from (Romans 10:17).

Keep your eyes on the Word of God and off the fear and dire predictions of this world. What you listen to determines what you believe, so bathe your spirit in what God has to say. He says that you can live safely in a dangerous world.
