Is It Love or Lust?

“You don’t fall in love, you grow in love…If you fall in love, you can fall out of it. We’ll let love grow.” – The Cinderella Rule

I love the quote from the nineteenth-century Italian poet Arrigo Boito: “When I saw you, I fell in love. And you smiled because you knew.” Looking back, that’s kind of what happened with Justin and me.

He walked into my office and pretty much knew he wanted me.

We don’t call it “love at first sight” because there is so much more to love than the excitement of liking someone. How can you love someone at first sight? Instead of overusing the word “love,” let’s try a few different reactions.

Attraction at first sight.

Lust at first sight.

Infatuation at first sight.

Emotional response at first sight.

Physical response at first sight.

All of those things happened at our first meeting. Not love. Love came later.

Love grew into something amazing.

Love deepens and changes.

Love at first sight applies to when you see your newborn baby for the first time or hold your adopted child. Love at first sight pertains to your children, but not to your spouse. It sounds wonderful and romantic and dreamy, but love is more than feelings.-excerpt taken from The Cinderella Rule

Side note: I am creating a quick reader survey so I can better understand my audience…you guys! I want to know more about who you are and what you find interesting, so that I can create content that is relevant and worth reading.

Love you all.
