A Vision of Jesus Saved His Life

“I told the demons, ‘Do what you want,’ and I gave them entry into my life,” Tony Maisey testifies. The partnership with darkness began very early in his life. His grandmother performed backstreet abortions during World War II, allowing a spirit of murder to enter his blood line. His parents dabbled in the occult and witchcraft in the home when he was a child, which brought a stronghold of fear in his life. He would not walk by himself into certain areas of the home because it triggered intense dread.

For years, Tony suffered with an addiction, the loss of a marriage and his mental health. He turned to crime and even spent time in jail. Tony states, “I had mastered the art of hiding the frightened child, behind the mask of a fearless criminal.” Realizing he was a “bad” man, he began to search for redemption. This led him to the country of Peru to take part in a ceremony and drink a potion called Ayahuasca. What Tony thought would bring relief only intensified his dealings with the demonic and he plunged further into despair.

Tony was about ready to give up on life. Every night when he closed his eyes, he would see demons and be tormented. Years of this brought him to a place of desperation. Until one night, a vision of a man wearing a crown of thorns was kneeling beside him, interceding for him. When he closed his eyes again, the demons were gone. This began a journey to the Jordan River to be baptized and his name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. (Listen to part 1 and part 2 of his story.)

Tony knew that God wanted to heal him. In his deepest and darkest moment, Jesus showed up. {eoa}
