4 Powerful Benefits Your Praise of God Produces

At church, there is a segment allotted to worship. People raise their hands, close their eyes and sing as loud as they can.

Scripture commands us to praise God: “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD(Ps. 150:6, NIV).

So, let’s look at four things your praise of God produces:

1. Praise gives God a throne to sit on. You may think your praise does not go past the walls, but when we worship “in spirit and in truth,” our praise is the place where God is enthroned. Read Psalm 22:3 and John 4:24.

2. Praise confuses the devil. We see in Judges 7:22 and 2 Chronicles 20:22 that when God’s people decided to praise with trumpets and song, it was a powerful weapon against the enemy.

This can be true in your life. Defeat the devil by confusing him through praising God despite your feelings and circumstances.

3. Praise protects our hearts. Paul and Silas faced trials, but instead of allowing the enemy to influence their hearts, they decided to praise God while in jail (Acts 16:26). Praise reminded them of God’s goodness and led to divine intervention. You can follow their example.

Psalm 37:3 tells us to feed on God’s faithfulness in moments of trouble to protect our hearts from the devil’s schemes.

4. Praise gives us a new perspective. Read John 6:11 and John 11:41 to see that gratitude adjusts attitude, and attitude adjusts altitude. Attitude is the response to people and situations based on the beliefs, values and assumptions one holds.

Ten percent of life is how you make it, while 90% of life is how you take it. Learn to use the power of praise to defeat the enemy’s plots against you. Praise until your circumstances change, so glory be to God always! {eoa}
