You’re a Winner! You Were Not Born to Lose

by | Mar 25, 2021 | Spiritual Warfare

Picture yourself in a boxing ring, and your coach on the sidelines is screaming at you. Each time you huddle up for instructions during a brief corner meeting, he’s in your face saying, “You’re born to win; you’re not born to lose.”

Your coach is reminding you of what he’s taught you. I’m sure you’d fight with more confidence knowing that someone has confidence in the skills and time invested in your training. This coach knows you, and he knows your opponent.

Can I encourage you to stay in the faith fight (1 Tim. 6:12)? God has and is invested in your win. God wants you to walk in newness. Fight the good fight of faith. The Lord has preordained your win.

Romans 8:29-30 says, “For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom He predestined, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified; and those whom He justified, He also glorified.”

You may feel like Gideon (see Judg. 7), reduced with limited resources. You may feel as though the battle may not be won. Often, we fail to follow God’s voice and training, and we do not receive the ordained outcome of the battles we face. Christ is our mediator and advocate; He ensures victory as we obey Him. When we don’t obey His instructions, it may not work out for our good. My friends, God has already gone before you, and you won’t shrink back this time but advance.

Joseph, Daniel, Esther and David all had vital instructions to follow in the work God called them to accomplish. They were all chosen to rise up in critical times of crisis. Look at the condition of our world, and invite the Lord. It’s time to be an agent of change—right now, right where you are. “He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:6b). Our Lord is a faithful encourager.
