Why This Is Your Only Hope in the Midst of Turmoil

I have listened to powerful messages on learning to hold life loosely so it will not break. But what I have experienced whether I hold on to life forcefully or lightly; it falls apart.

But I want to testify in my brokenness and surrender. The Lord is faithful to reveal His greatness in those broken moments.

In Luke 1:32a, the angel proclaimed concerning the life and ministry of Jesus, “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest.”

Anyone that has walked the earth knows, life is chaos! I love every moment of this crazy ride because I have experienced the greatness of God.

Greatness brings a life of hope, despite the turmoil.

Greatness brings a fresh word in a dry season.

Greatness unlocks empowerment and equips us to believe when we feel weak.

Greatness enables us to have faith even for the impossible.

“He is great.”

Jesus transforming power into abundant life begins through the revealing of Himself at the point of our brokenness. The loss of a job, the death of a loved one, sickness, addiction, jail, divorce, loss with no imaginable solution, are all moments where God can intervene.

“He is great.”

Greatness is revealed in failure. Have you ever been caught in a messy situation when out of nowhere, greatness shows up? He says, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more” (John 8:11).

Greatness is revealed in fear. Have you ever lost your faith? Have you ever thought you might drown? Have you ever felt fear grip your heart, but then greatness showed up? He says, “Peace be still” (see Matt. 8:23-27).

Greatness is revealed in negative feelings. Have you ever felt overwhelmed? Have you ever struggled to get out of bed? Ever lost someone you treasure? In profound moments of loss, that is when greatness shows up! He says, “Lazarus come forth”(John 11:43).

Greatness is revealed in the future. Do you fear what comes next? Have you asked yourself if you can protect your family? Do you wonder if America will survive? Do you think this is the end? The unknown is where greatness shows up! He says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

“He is great.”

Victory in the kingdom of God always starts when chaos meets our surrender to Christ. God never asks you to go first. Christ surrendered to the cross and the will of His Father. The price for your triumph was paid for in full. The key to your joy begins with surrender to His greatness.
