Are Christians Unwittingly Releasing Witchcraft-Type Prayers?

There is a spiritual realm that is alive and active. Angels and demons are literally waiting to ride upon our words. Our words have prophetic power and get prophetic results. However, our words can also curse and bring forth destruction.

Are Christians praying soulish prayers out of their natural intentions of what they want to see manifest in a person’s life? Are they unknowingly throwing a curse up into the spiritual atmosphere similar to a witchcraft curse? We know the Bible says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Prov. 18:21a).

What happens to all those soulish prayers that go forth audibly into the spiritual realm? I believe they are activated and release a natural reaction that causes delayed destinies, emotional havoc and natural destruction. Our words have life and power, and they also create manifestations in the natural contrary to God’s will for our lives.

What is a soulish prayer? Soulish prayers are praying out what you want to see happen in a person’s life, instead of praying while led by the Spirit for what needs to be released audibly for God’s will to manifest. A friend of mine had children who were missionaries. She knew it was the will of God for her children, but her mother-in-law and husband did not want the children out of the country. Therefore, they would pray soulish prayers to get them to leave the mission field and come back to the United States.

Depending on what we pray and how we pray, this could cause a curse to go up and activate in the spiritual realm.

How about when we leave church on Sunday and say “The pastor didn’t preach a very good message today, and I’m sure next week’s won’t be any better”? This is throwing unnecessary words up into the atmosphere and giving the enemy the right to ride on the words we speak.

Word curses could consist of:

—They’ll never do better in school.

—They are a loser.

—They won’t lose weight; they couldn’t keep it off in the past and won’t now.

—They aren’t anointed.

The list could go on and on of what we speak into the spiritual atmosphere. Recently, I had to speak negatively about a situation. I remember spending time rebuking, renouncing and canceling any word curses I put up in the spiritual atmosphere over myself and canceling words that were spoken over me through the situation. I wanted to make sure no curses took a flight.

Even though we are Christians, we can still release curses into the spiritual atmosphere by our words. Therefore, we need to make sure we are canceling negative words spoken over us, while at the same time making sure we aren’t cursing our brothers and sisters in Christ. After all, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Prov. 18:21a). Let’s make sure our tongues speak life! {eoa}
