A Lifelong Process: A Deliverance Minister Who Needed Deliverance

I recently received some additional deliverance. You may think it is odd for a deliverance minister to need deliverance, but we are all a work in progress and have continual things in which we struggle. I believe deliverance is a lifelong process and that there are always things in which we can release to receive more freedom.

The struggle had been in my mind for years. The Lord told me years ago, “Kathy, if your mind is stuffed and crammed full of Scripture, there will be no room for the enemy to torment you.” I think sometimes my mind isn’t as stuffed full as I’d like because sometimes it seems as if he gets his way in. We all know the battle is in our minds. Fear runs rampant trying to attack; stress and anxiety rear their ugly heads and that doesn’t even include our own vain imaginations and false scenarios. (If you can relate to this, see my free e-course for deliverance from fear.)

The deliverance I received recently wasn’t from a demonic spirit but from my own thoughts and ways of thinking. So often, people restrict deliverance through a formula of how it has to happen. Still, the truth is Jesus is the deliverer, and deliverance can and will manifest any way He desires. Recently, as I was proofreading my upcoming book Prophetic Spiritual Warfare, I was reminded of the faith I do have. It brought forth profound freedom. I was focused on where the enemy was tormenting me and how to receive release from this generational curse. It would consistently attack my mind.

As I was proofreading my book, I remembered the giant-size faith I have in this topic. It was as if a light went off, and I figured out the battle was so intense in this area because it’s an area where I have the greatest faith. The enemy is threatened by what I can release and how I can empower, heal and deliver people.

The enemy is threatened by you too! Why? Because you have a victory on the other side of your victim mentality. You have a powerful voice to speak out your testimony on the other side of that torment.

The enemy would like nothing better than to keep you focused on your problem, but the Lord wants you to shift your thinking and start focusing on the promise. We spend too much time figuring out what is wrong and not having enough time to meditate on what is right. We look at our weaknesses more than our strengths.

We need a mind shift and transformation, and sometimes that doesn’t come by casting out demons but by truly renewing our thoughts and taking responsibility to change our thinking patterns and habits. We have a part to play in our freedom. We need to make a divine transition in our thinking and walk in our identity and authority. The battle is fierce because you are armed and dangerous to the enemy’s camp.

It is time we start seeing ourselves as kingdom citizens filled with weaponry to target the enemy instead of focusing on the mind-binding tormenting spirits that attack and the vain imaginations we entertain. It is time to arise and put the battle under our feet and out of our minds!
