Unlock Holy Spirit Power and Blessings When You Align With God’s Calendar

Spending time in God’s Word reveals more about Him, your identity and the inheritance He has for you and your family. In the Bible, God established the feasts of the Lord, New Moon festivals (monthly) and Sabbath days for a reason (see Num. 28-29).

And you can unlock the power that God’s calendar holds by understanding the Hebraic roots of your faith.

God understood how this fallen world would distract us. This is why He established His calendar—for us to return to and realign with His timing so that we would be blessed!

According to the Hebrew calendar, we’ve just come out of the season of the fall feasts—Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot.

What did God intend for us to learn during that season?

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (emphasis added) says, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”

Amid the fall feasts, we entered into a new year. Rosh Hashanah, also called the Head of the Year, changed the Hebrew calendar from 5779 to 5780. During the feasts, great revelation was released upon God’s people. We must hold on to that revelation, as it is our inheritance.

Have you ever received a word from the Lord, filling you with joy and peace? Then just days, weeks or months later you look back and wonder what happened to that blessing of peace—why was it stolen from you?

Distractions from the enemy come, and our focus is shifted. Just as God established a calendar for the Jewish people to stop with their daily work and refocus on Him, He calls us to do the same—all for our good.

The Purpose of Aligning With God’s Calendar

Let’s take the fall feasts for example, as they occur during the time at which the Hebrew calendar changes to the next year and the cycle begins again.

God’s purpose in providing these appointed times, or moeds in Hebrew, was for us to meet with Him. He set up an appointment for us to come into His presence and experience the heritage of our faith.

Feasts were established for these times. Once again, we see how God wants to bless us with increase—a feast—during the appointed times on His calendar!

Whatever trial we are enduring or enemy we are up against, these appointed times on God’s calendar are for us to connect to the Father and remember His sovereignty is mightier than any storm we may be experiencing.

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over” (Ps. 23:5).

How Does God’s Calendar Realign Us?

The Jewish people understood that God established these appointed times throughout the year, months and weeks for us to be able to reset and realign with Him.

The Hebrew months were also lunar, as opposed to solar such as the Gregorian calendar. Therefore, if you’ve noticed in Scriptures such as Numbers 28, the Lord established the new moon as the first of the month (Num. 28:11-15).

Did You Know?

—The Hebrew word for month is hodesh, which literally means “new moon.”

—His calendar—month-by-month—was designed for us! He asked for an offering so that we would enter the month with our focus on Him, rather than be consumed by the distractions that the world throws at us.

Some might see this as “legalistic.” But Satan is the legalist, not the Lord.

The Lord designed His calendar so that believers could receive all the blessings He releases in their season and for their purpose.

Here’s How to Unlock the Power of God’s Calendar

Step inside of God’s timeline. This is difficult to do unless you have the context in which the Bible was written. Ask God to reveal more of Him to you. Ask Him to connect you to the roots of your faith—your first love. Then you will understand what has been stolen from you and be empowered to reclaim it.

Remember God is patient with all of us. He never rushes; instead, He opens doors continuously in our lives for us to walk through. As we walk through doors, He reveals more and more to us. As He knocks, open the door.

When we start by connecting to Him through the timeline He established in the Bible and manifested through the Hebrew people, we start to think more like Him. We start to see patterns and appointments. Then we experience more of His eternal love and the inheritance He gives us through Christ.

Step into your identity. Jesus was a Jewish rabbi. To read His words releases freedom and understanding into your life. But to read them within the context for which they were first spoken and written releases an even greater depth of revelation and knowledge of the covenant relationship you have with Him.

When we understand the culture of the Bible and our connection to our Jewish roots, we have a firm grasp of the Scripture.

As you start to understand more of how Jesus taught and spoke, the identity that He gave you as a child of God will connect you to the Father’s heart.

Step into your purpose. Over time as you begin to align with God’s calendar, He will reveal your purpose to you. This is all because He has appointed you for a specific purpose before time began. He has a unique calling just for you, and the more you get to know Him, the more you can hear the voice of the Holy Spirit guide you on your path and into your purpose.

Unlocking the Jewish roots of your Christian faith allows you to see what God has for you and hear His voice more clearly. Learn how these roots were removed from the church and reclaim your inheritance today.
