Unconditional Surrender

But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him. —Mark 5:6

Jesus said, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” (Matthew 28:18). When Jesus arrived in the country of the Gadarenes, immediately he was confronted by a man who was possessed by so many demons that he gave his name as Legion.

These demons were not only many, but powerful. No man could bind him with chains. “Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him” (Mark 5:4).

Yet when the demoniac saw Jesus coming from a distance, he flung himself at Jesus’ feet. Absolute, unconditional surrender!

Any time you think about the devil, immediately add the word “defeated.” Is the devil attacking you? No, the defeated devil is attacking you. Call on the One who holds all power in heaven and in earth, and drive the defeated devil out of your life.

Jesus demands no less from you than absolute surrender. Are you ready to surrender all to Jesus?

Lord, I surrender all to You. I know that nothing
can save, deliver, or break my bondage
except You. I yield totally
to Your will. Amen.
