We all know the calming feeling that comes from being in our happy place. Can you picture yours? Maybe it’s a sandy beach with waves splashing on the shore. Maybe it’s a cabin in fall-colored woods. Or perhaps you would prefer to be cozy in front of a fire with snow falling outside.
What if, wherever you find beauty, you’re actually recognizing God’s hand in creation? God’s revelation to us may not come in ways we might initially expect. Hicks says some of her most beautiful encounters with God were found in the most unlikely of places. And sometimes, God reveals Himself through completely unexpected means.
Hicks says, “when we learn to recognize who He is in what we see, we will grow in understanding His voice in the world around us.”
So the question then becomes, “Lord, what is it You’re speaking?”
