How This Drug Addict’s Mandated Church Attendance Radically Changed His Life

Joe Oden is saved—radically saved.

As a teenager, he was a drug dealer and addict. One night after a bad reaction to LSD, Oden was channel surfing and happened upon a television evangelist. He felt the evangelist looking straight at him through the television as he said, “There is someone who is addicted to drugs. Jesus is right there in the cave with you. He is going to set you free. And you are going to preach the gospel around the world!”

Shortly after this supernatural incident, Oden had a run-in with the police. The judge sentenced him to attend church. Every week, Joe had to get his church bulletin signed by the pastor.

One Sunday, a team from the Brownsville Revival ministered at his Assemblies of God church. That night, Joe was knocked off his feet by the power of God! He was saved, baptized in fire and called into ministry. God had given him a life-changing, generation-shaking encounter. A shekinah glory cloud filled Joe’s church that night, and he was never the same again. Four months later, he began attending the Brownsville School of Revival.
