How Acquainted Are You With God’s Word?

by | Apr 20, 2021 | Purpose & Identity

Are you stuck in different areas of life? The Word of God says: “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free” (John 8:32). Heard it before? What is yet unknown will not remain so. The more we seek, the more we will find. What is momentarily hidden are treasures to be found. And when you do find these treasures, they shall make you free!

The New King James Version of the English Bible contains 31,097 verses. How many of them do you know by heart? The part that you truly know shall make you free. If you do not know it, that does not mean that the truth is not there, only that it is not revealed to you yet. As we read, study, memorize and meditate on the Word of God, more of the treasures and what is hidden will be revealed. It shall happen for you.

Brother Frank Sumrall frequently reminds us about the importance of not just reading the Word but studying it. As a born-again believer of Jesus, the Holy Spirit lives inside of you (1 Cor. 3:16). Reading, studying and memorizing the Word will make the Word work for you, though you are asleep.

As one preacher said, do not wait until you are in a desperate situation before you read the Word—start today. Because what is on the inside of you will eventually pop up out of you when the situation requires it. As the Scripture says: “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Matt. 12:34). The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit, and every reformer needs to use it to change their circumstances.

One day a friend of ours was brought to the local hospital for an emergency. Due to the seriousness of the situation, he fell into a coma. Later, after waking up, the doctors testified that the only words which came out of him during coma were, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.” He had the Word of the Lord already working on the inside of him, despite his own unawareness.

That is how powerful the Word of God is to everyone who puts their trust in Jesus. The Word of the Lord, together with the Holy Spirit inside of you, will shift and transform the hardest ground and make it bloom. When you know who you are in Christ Jesus, His truths and promises shall certainly make you free. {eoa}

Could Judas Have Been Saved?

Could Judas Have Been Saved?

The answer is yes. If Judas would have simply repented to God, he could have been saved. The Bible tells us that everyone can be saved. Judas knew he had sinned but he didn’t bring it to God. A person can feel remorse within themselves, but not remorse for sinning...

Out of respect for those of you who have taken the time to comment about a statement I made 11 years ago regarding the World Economic Forum, I thought it would be beneficial to restate God’s call on my life. In 1988, He made it clear that I was to be His messenger,...

A Big Excuse That Shuts Down Our Ability to Hear from God

One of the biggest excuses we have is that we somehow feel God doesn’t speak to us. This excuse shuts down our ability to hear from Him, trust Him and surrender to Him. All three things are integral when we are trying to change our habits, lose weight, get healthy and...

8 Reasons for You to Speak in Tongues

If a person were to ask, “Why speak in tongues?” couldn’t we also ask, “Why pray?” The Word of God shows a definite value in praying with an unknown tongue. Jesus tells us that “it is necessary always to pray” (Luke 18:1, MEV). Later, in speaking of prayer, Paul...
