Patrick Murdock is a visionary leader and the executive director of The Faith and Liberty Discovery Center. He left the corporate world to partner with kingdom-minded organizations such as the Billy Graham Association and Wycliffe Bible to fulfill the Great Commission. Marked by humility, he challenges us to be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever we are. He shared about The Faith and Liberty Center on a recent episode of the Make Life Matter podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network:

“We are bringing Scriptures back into the storyline of America. At The Faith and Liberty Discovery Center, the visitor is the hero, and the Bible is the guide.

“When we think about America today, we are so divided. Our culture has lost its sense of who we are and the values that historically have united us. The loss of our cultural identity and our moral grammar is sort of historical amnesia. Which begs the question, ‘Who are we as a nation and a people?’

“The Center has this opportunity to help us recover some of these missing pieces of our American memory and identity. We were at one time a people of the Book, the Jewish and Christian Scriptures, the Bible, and we used to call it the Good Book. We’re hoping that we can recover that and that people can find the Bible in a new and fresh way. It’s not just an old, dusty book that’s out of step with the times, but actually, the high ideas it calls us to live by—faith, hope and love—will help us rediscover the American story and what initially united us.

“For this moment, maybe God has ordained and decided to launch The Faith and Liberty Discovery Center right in the middle of the birthplace of America, bringing His Word back to the center and the foundation of this nation, and helping people in a way that is very inviting to discover this Book and these values. Maybe they leave thinking of themselves as a change-maker. This inspires them to do good and to lean into the Scriptures, to not only leave their own personal legacy behind but, we hope, to impact their eternal destiny. We are bringing the Scriptures back into the storyline of America.”

The $60 million, innovative attraction, opening May of 2021, explores the relationship between faith and freedom in America from its founding through today. The Center offers a highly immersive, customized personal experience, illuminating the influence of the Bible on individuals in key historical and personal moments. Geared to people of all faiths and no faith, the center will use unprecedented technology to demonstrate how the Bible has changed those who changed America.
