Prophetic Revivalist: The Significance of the Hebrew Fall Feast Season

We have just entered a new Hebrew month called Tishrei on the Jewish calendar. As we proceed on this month in the celebration of the fall feasts of the Lord, it is vital to know the holy days and what they mean.

In this Hebrew month of Tishrei, Rosh Hashanah (the Feast of Trumpets) was celebrated at sundown on Sept. 25. During this holy day, we rejoiced at the coronation of the King and acknowledged the 5,783 years since Adam and Eve were created. On this day we also stepped into the Ten Days of Awe and this will end on sundown on October 4th-5th  during Yom Kipper, the Day of Atonement.

The Day of Atonement is the Highest Holy Day of the year. On it, we remember that Christ sprinkled His blood on the mercy seat for us (Hebrews 8, 9 and 10). He is our High Priest and the ultimate Sacrifice. Christ is our atonement. You are at one with God because of what Jesus did for you.

During the Ten Days of Awe, it is a time for purification, cleanliness and setting yourself up for what God intends to do in and through you for the rest of the year. I encourage you this week to go deeper with God in prayer, fasting, and seeking His face.

Another feast that is coming up soon after Day of Atonement  is the Feast of Tabernacles on sundown October 9th-16th. The Feast of Tabernacles is also known as The Feasts of Booths or Sukkot. The Jewish people remember how their ancestors lived in small booths made from twigs and linens as they traveled 40 years from Egypt and arrived in the Promised Land. Even though they lived in transition, and with a certain level of vulnerability, God took care of them. He showed them miracles and fed them each day. The same is available to you. You may be in a vulnerable time of life, but God will take care of you in every way if you will continue to follow Him. It is joyful and restful to remember He is our provider!

When we look at the flow of what God is speaking in these three fall feasts we can prophetically see that from Feast of Trumpets celebration, through the 10 Days of Awe we prepare ourselves to then step into forgiveness and atonement for our sins on Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur and then into a Season of Tabernacles and celebration of  joy! All these holy days in a three week time frame. You are in God’s appointed season—believe it!

Start off the season right and begin to seek the Lord with prayer, fasting and giving from  Matthew 6 and your heart will begin to be open to what God has for you this special season! God wants you to walk in His blessings, and knowing God’s appointed times and seasons opens up the portal of heaven.
