Promise Keepers Marks 25th Anniversary in 2015

by | Mar 31, 2015 | Man

Promise Keepers (PK) is still reaching men. In its 25th year of hosting life-changing events for men and boys, an aggressive schedule includes seven cities.

“We are calling men to come together city-wide and region wide, and unite in the battle for our homes, churches and communities,” said Dr. Raleigh Washington, Promise Keepers president and CEO, who himself is a 20-year U.S. Army veteran. “Our duty is to contend for the faith, without compromise.”

The theme verses for 2015 are: I Corinthians 16:13 (“Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.”) and Isaiah 7:9b (“If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.”)

Presenters and Topics
Presenters in 2015 include PK founder Coach Bill McCartney and evangelist and baseball great Darryl Strawberry. The roster of PK speakers includes longtime favorites Larry Acosta, Tommy Barnett, Reggie Dabbs, Bishop Joseph Garlington, Miles McPherson, Rick Rigsby, Dr. Gary Rosberg, and Dobie Weasel. Author and pastor Francis Chan speaks at Promise Keepers for the first time this year.

Comedians Brad Stine and Cleto Rodgriguez bring their unique brands of humor and social critique. Christian artists Mark Schultz, Unspoken and guitar master Lincoln Brewster present Friday night concerts.

At Promise Keepers, topics are presented in an in-your-face manner. Session titles are: “Liberation,” “S.O.P. for Life,” “The Uncompromised Heart,” “Homeland Security,” “A Unified Front” and “Unbroken—No Compromise.”

The Promise Keepers Friday night–Saturday format will visit sporting venues in Phoenix, Arizona (April 17-18), Stockton, California (May 15-16), Baton Rouge, Louisiana (June 5-6), Pittsburgh, Pennysilvania (June 19-20), Kent, Washington (July 17-18), Dallas, Texas (Aug. 14-15) and Rochester, New York (Oct. 9-10).

The Biblical Way to Rise Above Mediocre Expectations

The Biblical Way to Rise Above Mediocre Expectations

We spend a lot of life figuring out if we “measure up,” a phrase someone coined in the mid-1800s. Even in childhood, we begin comparing ourselves with siblings and kids at school, and it never seems to stop. The problem goes back to Cain and Abel, doesn’t it? Most of...

A Better Way to Witness to Others for Christ

”Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?” (Rom. 2:4). Looking retrospectively at my past as an atheist, I can see where God...

Why Does God Want Us to Speak with Tongues?

Why Does God Want Us to Speak with Tongues?

Why speak with tongues? There are many reasons for speaking in a spiritual language. Primarily, though, the Scriptures require it. The apostle Paul commanded us, saying, “Pray in the Spirit always” (Eph. 6:18). Jude commanded it in verse 20, saying, “Pray in the Holy...

Why America Must Adopt the Battle Cry of Isaiah

End-Times Truth: The Rapture Reveals a Split Church

There are several resurrections and raptures in the Bible. I cannot understand those who argue that because there is no mention of the word "rapture" in the Bible they do not believe in it. They only believe in the Second Coming of the Lord. Some arguments are no...
