Every day, the modern world experiences growing lawlessness and chaos. Humanity has seen a pandemic ravage nations and fear shutters the world economy. Wars and rumors of wars are growing and nations are pouring enormous amounts of money into their nuclear weapons arsenals.

Christians and non-Christians alike are starting to wonder if we are now experiencing the end times.

Dr. Michael Youssef’s newest book, “Is The End Near?,” is a captivating read with a thorough investigation of Jesus’ words of warning about the end times in Matthew 24 and 25. The book is available now.

Youssef’s examination of Matthew 24 and 25 looks at everything from the four dimensions of judgment to catastrophic events that could trigger unprecedented turmoil. These are very real events that could—and will—take place at the end of the age, and Youssef calls for believers to watch for the signs … and be prepared.

“In many countries, the government makes it hard for churches to obtain permits for constructing or repairing churches,” Youssef writes. “Persecution may include discrimination against Christians who are seeking a job or legal representation … In many parts of the world, Christians are beaten or killed, and churches are destroyed.

“When Jesus says, ‘There will be famines and earthquakes in various places,’ He means in many places at the same time, all over the world,” Youssef writes. “John, in the book of Revelation, experiences a vision of that time and he describes it using the imagery of a scroll with a series of seals that are broken, one after the other. The breaking of the sixth seal causes the stars to fall from heaven. The breaking of the seventh seal causes the crops and the vegetation to be devastated.”

While circumstances are getting more difficult as the world enters into the birth pains of the end times, Youssef encourages readers to hold fast to hope, looking to the future with joy as they anticipate reuniting with Christ once and for all.

“Now, before you hide under your bed in fear, I hasten to tell you—do not be afraid,” Youssef writes. “The book you hold in your hands is not intended to frighten you, but to encourage you and give you hope and magnify your joy.”

Instead of being fearful of the events to come, Youssef inspires readers to share the Gospel with others so they can be a light to those who are afraid. Christians don’t have to fear the end times. “This book is a must-read because it will encourage you. It will lift you up—it will make you look up, not down,” Youssef says.
