Embrace Both the Kindness and Severity of God in Your Life

“I would go through all of the church hurt again because of the amount of healing and breakthrough it released in my life,” shares Chad Norris, pastor of Bridgeway Church and author of Mama Jane’s Secret: Walking in Deep Friendship with God.

I am on this earth to learn how to forgive and love well. I believe that God is ushering in the seasons that grow love in us. God is in the crushing and using it for His glory. Romans 8:18 exhorts us to “consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us.”

You can’t learn how to love from a book; you have to walk in deep friendship with God. You learn how to love by going through the crushing and letting God touch you. Going through pain taught me how to truly love.

Is there anyone God could bring into your path who you are not able to love?

“Learning how to wash the feet of the Judas in my life is how I learned how to love,” shares Leif Hetland, founder of Global Mission Awareness and author of Healing the Orphan Spirit.
