The Stronghold of Your Faith Wants to Restore What Has Been Lost

by | Feb 1, 2021 | Faith, Purpose & Identity

The Lord is turning things around to restore what’s been lost. I heard Him say, “Even now, I declare that I will restore double to you!”

I had an encouraging dream recently. I was in an international airport with some other people waiting to catch a flight back home. Suddenly I realized I had managed to leave some things I really cared about back at the hotel room—including my favorite black leather jacket. This was an upsetting discovery, but there was nothing I could do. There simply wasn’t enough time to go back to the hotel—if I did I would most certainly miss my flight.

So I boarded the flight, which took off as planned, but then something interesting happened. For some reason the plane was prevented from landing at the connecting airport and turned around. I found myself back at the original airport with plenty of time to go back to the hotel to recover these items!

Once back at the hotel, I discovered I’d left behind more stuff than I realized. In the process of gathering it all, I managed to forget my favorite black jacket again! But I hadn’t gotten far before I realized it and was able to go back a second time to recover it once more!

I don’t know about you, but I have certain things that the enemy (Satan) has stolen from me and my family that I’ve pretty much given up hope on ever recovering. As I prayed about some of these things in light of what was contained in the dream, the following Scripture leapt to mind:

“And as for you, because of the blood of your covenant, I will send your prisoners from the empty, waterless pits. Return to your stronghold, prisoners who now have hope. Today I declare that I will return to you a double portion” (Zech. 9:11-12).

Friends, it’s time to return to the stronghold of our faith—Jesus Christ. He has the power to turn things around, much like that plane turned around in my dream. I see Him restoring some things—and then restoring more things—even that which is most dear and precious to you—your “favorite black jacket!”

The Lord is turning things around to restore what’s been lost. I heard Him say, “Even now, I declare that I will restore double to you!”

Messianic Rabbi: He That Has an Eye, Let Him Hear

It is interesting that, as a Messianic rabbi the question I am asked most often by Christians is if I believe that they as Christians have to celebrate, or observe, the biblical Holy Days. They are usually asking about those days listed in Leviticus 23: Shabbat, Yom...

The Biblical Way to Rise Above Mediocre Expectations

The Biblical Way to Rise Above Mediocre Expectations

We spend a lot of life figuring out if we “measure up,” a phrase someone coined in the mid-1800s. Even in childhood, we begin comparing ourselves with siblings and kids at school, and it never seems to stop. The problem goes back to Cain and Abel, doesn’t it? Most of...

Why Does God Want Us to Speak with Tongues?

Why speak with tongues? There are many reasons for speaking in a spiritual language. Primarily, though, the Scriptures require it. The apostle Paul commanded us, saying, “Pray in the Spirit always” (Eph. 6:18). Jude commanded it in verse 20, saying, “Pray in the Holy...

Why God’s Rebuilding is Better Than His Restoration

Why America Must Adopt the Battle Cry of Isaiah

A battle cry is used to summon armies to war. A loud, unified shout could intimidate the strongest of enemies. Confidence in battle often tilts the scale toward victory, whereas timidity, fear and cowardliness will surely lead to defeat. In these dreadful times, don’t...
