RELIGIOUS LIBERTIES
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”

According to the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” The Pilgrims escaped from England in the early 1600s for that very reason, but it wasn’t until the Bill of Rights was ratified in 1791 that the ideal would come to fruition. Our Founding Fathers considered freedom of religion to be a fundamental human right, but it has come under fire in recent years by those who cite the concept of separation of church and state.
- Pray that our freedoms guaranteed in the First Amendment, including that of religion, remain protected.
- Pray that our government officials do not use their power for their own agenda, and that they respect the ideals of our nation’s Founding Fathers.
DAILY PRAYER
Father, we know that You are sovereign and in control of everything. Forgive us for taking the simple things for granted, such as those freedoms guaranteed in our nation’s Constitution. Help us to stand up and fight for our freedoms while glorifying You every step of the way.
