True Faith Looks to God

(Part 1)

In his book, Real Christianity, Wilberforce suggested that we “fix our gaze upon Jesus.” He meant, among other things, that we should acknowledge Jesus as our chief model of genuine love and humility. Then by the power of Christ’s indwelling Spirit, we will be able to align our lives with His.

HEART ISSUE: Ask the Lord to give you an awareness of how your faith can bring needed changes to your surroundings.
PRAYER FOCUS: Father God, in the name of Jesus thank You for helping me to walk in authenticity. Help me to pray for others with boldness, and let me never lose perspective on the power of Your promises. Amen.

(Part 2)


William Wilberforce sought to be salt and light within his culture. Just as the Bible was his guide to the practice of authentic faith in all of life, so it should be ours, for it contains the truths that will guide us and keep us on course, personally and professionally.

HEART ISSUE: Some people challenge your ability to practice kindness. Ask the Lord to give you His special compassion for them.
PRAYER FOCUS: Father God, in the name of Jesus, thank You for empowering me to move in the love of Jesus toward everyone I encounter during the course of my day. Let others experience His presence through me and His smile through mine. Amen.
