(PART 1)

When we rely on the Lord, His joy will be our strength. Our circumstances cannot so easily overwhelm us. Even when we can’t see how, God is faithful to deliver us from every affliction.

READ: Neh. 8:10; Ps. 5:11; Ps. 16:11; Is. 12:2-3; Rom. 14:17; 1 Pet. 4:12-13.
HEART ISSUE: When has the joy of the Lord been evident in your life? Did you experience His strength as described in Scripture?
PRAYER FOCUS: Father, Your joy is indeed my strength. Let Your Holy Spirit convict me today whenever I rely on myself. Amen.

(PART 2)

It is easy to forget that God is sovereign through every event in our lives. For our trust in Him to grow, we must press on and determine to place our confidence in Him and not in what we see.

READ: 2 Sam. 22:31-33; 1 Chr. 5:20; Ps. 18:30-32; Ps. 20:7; John 14:1; Rev. 12:11.
HEART ISSUE: How do you react when the “unexpected” happens in your life? Do you willingly run into the Father’s arms and lean on His joy to sustain you?
PRAYER FOCUS: Father, not my will, but Yours be done. Holy Spirit, gently remind me of Your sovereignty so I will not forget that my confidence rests in You. Amen.
