A Treasure More Precious Than Gold

Psalm 19:1-14 I go on a treasure hunt every day. As I read the Bible through each year, I always find a new nugget I missed in the years past. The Bible is a treasure chest filled with gold and jewels. The gold and jewels found in the Word of God are His promises and principles. The principles are the statutes and commandments of the Lord, and they keep us from evil. The promises are given to those who fear the Lord. The fear of the Lord is clean and endures forever.

As I look into God’s Word, I find the treasures of hidden wisdom that are all in Christ Jesus, the living Word. The Holy Spirit is narrator as I read the Word, and I can hear His gentle voice teach me daily. I try not to miss His classroom ever because I know He has many surprises for me each day.

This psalm has been put to music, and as I sing it today, I am reminded once again about the precious treasure many are missing in their lives.

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul:

The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart:

The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever,

The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Don’t miss your treasure hunt today.
