How Jesus’ Righteousness Leads to Your Prosperity

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, my prayer has been that we will prosper in spite of it all, as a family, as a ministry, as a nation.

Beloved, I am so convinced that what Jesus has done is enough to release the gift of righteousness and the blessing of God into the lives of all who believe in Him. Nothing can stand against the blessing of the Lord upon the righteous, the apostle Paul boldly declares, in all things we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us!

Beloved, this pandemic has produced a lot of pain in many people’s lives, but I boldly declare that if you have put your trust in Christ and have become a child of God, gifted with the Holy Spirit and the gift of righteousness released through faith in Christ, that nothing will hold you back from good. The Lord Jesus is with you no matter what you are facing, and if God is with you then you are a blessed man or woman.

Our blessing is not in our circumstances; it is in the fact that God Himself is with us. Let’s look at the story of Joseph in the Bible. It says in Genesis 39 that even though Joseph was sold as a slave, the Lord was with him, and therefore, he was a successful man.

Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there. The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate” (Gen. 39:1-6, NIV, emphasis mine).

As a slave, Joseph was sold with nothing to his name—not a penny, probably not a garment, not a connection to an important leader, nothing! It was the Lord’s favor upon Joseph that caused him to prosper even in the most difficult circumstances.

If you are looking at your circumstances today and you don’t have a job, you don’t have an income, maybe you don’t even have a home of your own but you have the Lord Jesus, then you will recover what you have lost and more.

I declare over you that you will be like the tree planted by the rivers of waters; you will not be careful in the year of drought and your leaf shall not wither. You will be continually nourished by your roots through the river of life in Christ Jesus.
