Finished for the Devil

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. —John 19:30

I do not care what your situation looks like. I do not care what the devil has been trying to do in your life. I do not care what kind of lie he has tried to sell you. Settle it in your spirit once and for all that the devil is defeated. The devil may know your past, but you know his future. He is finished. He is destroyed. He is defeated.

Jesus came to earth “to destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 2:7). The word works in this verse means the kind of energy that produces power or action. Jesus came to strip the devil of his power. The only power the enemy has over you is what you give him through believing his lies.

When Jesus hung His head on the Cross and said, “It is finished,” He did not mean “almost finished.” The battle was won at Calvary and declared at His resurrection. Do not let the devil browbeat you any longer. Tell him he was defeated two thousand years ago, and claim your victory today. Rejoice, because when Jesus said, “It is finished,” He meant it was finished for the devil and Your salvation, healing, deliverance, and victory were also settled for eternity.

I declare to the enemy that he is defeated. Satan, you are finished.
You have no authority over my life. All power and authority
belong to Christ. He is the One I listen to,
and I am deaf to any lies you would say to me. Amen.
