Feeling Broken and Unworthy? Learn From This Lesser-Known Bible Character

Are you called to a beautiful place but still feeling broken? My friend if this is you, then you are crippled at the palace.

Who determines our self-worth?

If we attach our self-worth to an outside source or person, when that source no longer exists or that person leaves us, so will our self-worth.

The people we are surrounded by are placed there as a complement to our lives. However the only one who completes us is Jesus! And you have been made complete in Christ (see Col 2:10).

Self-worth is not contingent on anyone acknowledging it or affirming it. You are who God says you are, no more and no less!

2 Samuel 9:8 says, “He [Mephibosheth] bowed low and said, ‘What is your servant that you should be concerned for a dead dog like me?'”

Mephibosheth was dropped at an early age by the person whose job was to protect him. The drop created a paralysis in both of his feet. He was crippled for the rest of his life.

Many of us were dropped by one circumstance or another, by one person or another. Maybe it was that divorce, or maybe it was that molestation or rape you had to endure. Many of us were abused by the very people who promised to protect us. These drops created a paralysis in our emotions that have sent us into a spiritual and emotional Lo Debar, like the place where Mephibosheth went to live in a place. The word means a place with no pasture, a place that is barren, a place of no communication. Lo Debar is a place of depression and a place of feeling unworthy.

These are the very feelings that will not allow us to rejoice when we arrive at the blessing

Journey with us as we unwrap the truths behind feeling unqualified, unworthy and less than on the Level Up Girl podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. God will always remind us that His grace reserves our place at His table. {eoa}
