Someone you know well is dealing with porn addiction.

Someone you know well is dealing with porn addiction. I say this because statistically, it’s got to be true. Everybody has encountered it. Many keep looking. And a group of people that is bigger than we want to admit is addicted.

Chap Clark of the Fuller Youth Institute has suggested that up to 60% of our teen boys are addicted. This terrifies me, not only for how it is re-wiring their brains now, but for how it’s going to significantly and negatively affect their sex lives into marriage.

The people at Fight The New Drug have created a short video that captures the essence of the problem. You might want to watch it with your kids and then talk about it. Click here or watch it below.

If this is a problem with someone you love, or you think it might become one, get some help. Don’t know where to start? Read on…

Here are some of our favorite resources to help you:

THE TALKS

Of course we think our book, The Talks is the best one-stop shopping guide to helping your kids develop a healthy perspective of sex. It’s must-reading for every parent and it’s on sale at Amazon right now.

BRAIN BUDDY

This is the first app we have found that actually provides direction to help you to re-train your brain from porn addiction. Along with spiritual renewal and relational accountability, Brain Buddy can serve as third critical key to breaking the bonds of addition.

EVERY YOUNG MAN’S BATTLE

We have several great blog posts and numerous videos here at INFO for Families with resources to help your family tackle this issue. Just search for “porn” in the search bar at the top of the site.

And remember, our Critical Conversations Event is a 90 minute workshop for parents designed to help families to get a strategy for helping their kids have a healthy and biblical view of their sexuality. If you are interested in having us speak to your church or community group, our BOOKING FORM is the best place to start.

Adapted from infoforfamilies.com, a ministry founded by Barrett and Jenifer JohnsonAfter serving in the local church for 25 years, Barrett and Jenifer launched INFO for Families as a ministry designed to encourage people through speaking, personal coaching and resource development. Barrett served for 15 years in youth ministry before serving for eight years as the Family Minister at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Atlanta, one of the largest churches in the South. He has degrees from Texas A&M University and Southwestern Seminary, but he and Jenifer have received their best education through the no-holds-barred nature of everyday family life.
