What is Your Prophetic Process?

I recently had the honor to sit down with apostles Craig and Colette Toach of Next Gen Prophets at their ministry base. Their tribe of prophets welcomed my family and I with open arms, love and excitement.

Prophecies were flowing for an hour or so before we hit the record button for a live studio audience podcast interview.

I asked Craig and Colette what their prophetic process was like and when they first started prophesying. Apostle Craig shared parts of his story saying, “My process started when I got saved with Colette next to me. I got saved and that night was told I had a prophetic calling. The first real prophecy that stands out to me was at a church where we were invited to attend. The pastor there said, ‘If anyone has a prophetic word, please feel free to speak.’”

Craig further stated, “I felt the anointing rising up in me and I was trying to push it down. I was saying, ‘Uh, uh, Lord, I don’t know these people. I don’t know this church, I’m just barely saved. Who am I to stand in front of this church and speak?’ But the anointing was rising up in me where it almost pulled me up to the front. But the Lord gave me a word of encouragement.”

He said, “You know what, I needed that moment. I didn’t prophesy in the security and safety of home. I had to do that cold turkey for the first time in a church that didn’t know me. It showed me the grace the Lord puts on a prophet to share His love and speak to His people. If you are a willing vessel, He will do the rest. That was the nucleus of starting my prophetic call. I didn’t have to be a perfect vessel, but a willing vessel.”

Apostle Colette said, “My experience was that I grew up in church, among revivalists. The gifts of the Spirit were Friday night Bible study, Monday night Bible study, Wednesday night Bible study. This was my everyday, normal thing. I had a relationship with Jesus and all I did was Jesus would speak to me and tell me what to tell people. I didn’t know I was prophesying at the time, I was just relaying the message. It wasn’t until later on that I had a name for what I had always been doing.”

She continued saying, “The presence and tangible knowledge of Jesus is with you. Prophecy is a language of you expressing to others what Jesus is telling you. What is prophecy? Isn’t it expressing the heart and mind of Christ? That’s all I did. The more you flow in it deliberately, the more you incline your ear to Him, the more He will have to say to His people.”

This conversation was so good. During the recording in their studio my eyes were opened to an angel standing next to us as God’s presence filled the room and that is mentioned on the podcast.
