How do we destroy, spoil, and sever the roots of demonic strongholds and curses? Our heavenly Father made provision for all those who accept and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and who dwell under the protection of the blood of Jesus to break themselves and others free from the yoke of self-imposed and generational curses. To be set free, the following steps are important:
• Take heed (pay attention to advice, be mindful, observe) to do according to God’s Word. Live a morally clean life. Remain steadfast, obeying God’s Word so that Satan is unable to cross the line (Ps. 119:9; Prov. 26:2; Mal. 4:6).
• Dress yourself every day with the full armor of God. Keep your mind focused on God’s Word. Speak, pray, meditate, and confess the Word. Stay out of the places that bring temptation and confusion and wrong relationships. Protect your feet. Protect your mouth. Protect your heart. The Word of God is a flaming sword to combat the enemy (Eph. 6:10–20).
• Plead the blood of Jesus. We conquer by the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony. When Jesus died on the cross of Calvary, He set us free from the dominion of sin and the power of the enemy. His blood guarantees our access to God and releases us from the bondage of Satan. Christ became a curse for us so that we could be free from all curses (Rev. 12:11; Gal. 3:10–14).
• Do not participate in any sins involving occult practices, idol worship, ceremonies, or family traditions that involve any kind of satanic worship. Cleanse your heart by praying yourself clean with the Word of God.
• Destroy and get rid of all evil objects, amulets, trinkets, jewelry, keepsakes, and artwork associated with pagan worship and the occult.
• Join a prayer and discipleship group in a Bible-based and Spirit-filled church. Feed your mind on the Word of God.
Putting the information together for this chapter was accomplished by divine intervention. It has not been easy. Satan does not want this information to get out. Much prayer and vigilance has covered every word in this manuscript.
