Break Free From Your Agreement With the Enemy’s Junk

Agreement is not necessarily something where we have consciously said, “I agree with that.”

Agreement primarily comes through tolerating and allowing the many forms of counterfeit thought to accumulate within. If we struggle with fear, we have agreement with fear in our thinking. If we battle with being easily resentful, we are in agreement with bitterness and resentment. If speaking ill about people behind their backs is a constant habit, we have agreement with accusation and gossip.

Thoughts from the enemy are presented to us in a medley of forms, which many fail to realize. Everything from feelings, impressions, reasoning, temptations and false beliefs, all with audio and video playback included, can originate from the enemy’s camp. Most of the world entertains what comes down the pike in thought without awareness.

Even Christians have become extremely ignorant of how their thought life has become compromised. Our agreement with the enemy has mostly come down to our ignorance and spiritual passivity, where we have not taken charge of our inward dialogue and meditation. We have failed to take notice that an intruder is speaking.

In their journey of freedom, many attempt to be authoritative over the enemy, yet without much success. This is mainly because they are trying to overthrow an enemy they are in agreement with. Satan’s army is not threatened by our spiritual warfare if we are still in agreement with his devices. We can no longer be ignorant of Satan’s devices. We must break the agreement to begin our walk out into freedom.

Spiritual warfare is often much more simple than people make it. Where there is agreement, the enemy has access. We cannot make it so complex that we lose this simple truth. If we agree with fear, then fear will have access. If we agree that we are not of high worth, rejection has access. If we agree that someone’s wrong towards us needs to be punished, then bitterness has access. If we agree that God cannot work miracles in our lives, unbelief has access. If we do not love and value ourselves, self-hatred has access. If we agree that God is in a bad mood and angry with us, condemnation will have access.

When there are inner conflicts and “self versus self” wars going on within, we can be sure that accusation is present to stir it up. Satan is the ringleader and father of all thoughts that go against the knowledge, love and grace of God.

It’s time once and for all to break the agreement with thoughts that have kept us bound.
