Do you need change in your life? Perhaps you need a change in self-discipline or a change in priorities. If so, you need more of Jesus. Don’t back away—run towards Him. Jesus can walk you through the valley of the shadow of death and He can bless your life in amazing ways.
Pastor Mark Moore, author of the devotional “Quest 52: A Fifteen Minute-a-Day Yearlong Pursuit of Jesus,” encourages you to give Jesus a year of your life. If you do, He will change your life. Devoting only 15 minutes a day to draw closer to Jesus will enhance your understanding of Him and forever change how you make choices, engage with others, interpret the big issues of the day and even how you view yourself. A year of pursuing Jesus can permanently change the trajectory of your life.
Jesus wants to reveal Himself to us daily. That’s what He did with His disciples. Recall the story of when Jesus calmed the storm. The disciples were in the boat when the storm hit, and Jesus was asleep. He stood and rebuked the wind and waves. His disciples, who had been following Him for over a year, huddled in the boat and asked, “who is this man?” He still surprised them. In the same way, Jesus will impact you when you meet with Him regularly.
God sent Jesus to give His life as a sacrifice for our sins. And not just to give Himself but to give us a model of what it’s like to be cross-bearing, fruit-producing believers. We can keep falling in love with Jesus daily and see Him in a fresh and new way in all His glory.
