Prophecy: The Mystery of the Jews’ Salvation

by | May 2, 2022 | Prophetic Insight

We have shown in the last article and podcast who is not going to be with God and Jesus in the new heaven and new earth but will be cast into the lake of fire. Who, then, is recorded in the Book of Life and will be with God and Jesus forever?

In my first years as a newborn believer, that answer was quick and easy: all who repent and believe in Jesus Christ who are in covenant with God through His blood. No one will be allowed to enter heaven without being covered and washed by the blood of Jesus Christ for their sins.

As an evangelist, I still maintain that truth of God’s Word and preach it wherever I go. Jesus Christ is the answer to our sin problem. It is only by His blood that the wrath of God is appeased and we are reconciled to God with the gift of eternal life.

Yet, Paul in Romans and John in Revelation present a mystery concerning the Jews of Israel. Paul writes in Romans 11 that in the end the blindness of the Jews will be lifted “and so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: ‘The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; for this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins'” (Rom. 11:26-27, NKJV).

Then Paul continues that “concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers” (v. 28, NKJV). That in the Bible is an election to eternal life with God and Jesus. This calling of God concerning the sons of Jacob is irrevocable (v. 29). Then Paul implies that no one can know “the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God” (v. 33, NKJV). For us it is a mystery of the Jews’ salvation.

When I put this in the context of Romans 11, Paul writes that all of Israel will be saved because of God’s mercy. They are in covenant with Him forever.

Then we go to Revelation and are told that those who are in covenant with God have the seal of the living God on their foreheads, symbolizing they are in covenant with God. They are the servants of God with His seal on their foreheads (Rev. 7:1-4). They are under His spiritual protection and immune to the judgments of God that will be poured out on those who have the mark of the beast or are in covenant with Satan, those who follow secular humanism.

Revelation chapter 6 finishes with the question, “Who will be able to stand on the day of the Lamb’s wrath?” (See verse 17.) In other words, who will be saved from God’s judgments and be in heaven worshipping the living God? Chapter 7 answers that question immediately.

In verse 4 we find the perfect number of all the tribes of Israel, 144,000, is the first answer to this question. This number symbolizes that all the tribes of Israel were sealed in covenant with God. The Jews are mentioned before the Gentiles in heaven. They stand with the great multitude worshipping in heaven declaring the glory of God and the Lamb.

Earlier in Revelation 4:4 the 24 elders were introduced as leaders and worshippers in heaven. Are they not Jew and Gentile, 12 and 12 representing the full number of the Jews and Gentiles in chapter 7?

Who are the martyrs of the fifth seal in Revelation 6 (vv. 9-11)? Surely they are both Jews and Gentile believers who have died for their faith in God. Who are the saints mentioned throughout Revelation? Again, this would include Jews and Gentile believers.

Who are the two witnesses in Revelation 11? Are they Moses and Elijah or the witnesses of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant? Jew and Christian?

Revelation 11:18 mentions the prophets and the saints worshipping in heaven. Most of the prophets in the Bible were Jews.

In Revelation 12 the woman is clearly Israel giving birth to Jesus. In this war between Satan and God’s saints, the Jews are included as overcoming Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, even unto death.

In Revelation 12:17 where it speaks of Satan enraged with the woman, would not the Jews be the ones who keep the commandments of God? Then in Revelation 15:3 the worshippers in heaven sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb. It is the Jews in Deuteronomy 32 who sing the song of Moses. Why mention the song of Moses if the Jews are not included?

In Revelation 19, Jesus is now ready for the consummation of His marriage to His bride. Are not the Jews called God’s bride in the Old Covenant? Therefore, I would say the Jews are included with the followers of Jesus in this marriage, especially after all that has been written about them in Revelation.

Why are the Jews constantly lifted together with the Gentile believers in Revelation unless the Jews are in heaven because they have the seal of God by the covenant with Abraham? Paul makes it clear Abraham is in heaven by faith. Would anyone exclude David and Moses from heaven? No.

Paul says that in the end all of Israel will know that their Messiah is Jesus and they will be saved because of God’s will and plan based on His mercy and infinite wisdom. Yes, it is all based on Jesus and His blood. One can make quite a case that the Jews will be in heaven with us because of Jesus and the Father.

A Jew living by faith in God is in covenant with God and will be saved by the blood of Jesus. I may be wrong in my conclusion — as Paul said in Romans 11:26-36, no one can know the full mystery of God’s salvation plan for the Jews — but I conclude the Jews are as much part of the covenant as the Gentile believers.

I have been to Israel. I have worshipped in two synagogues in America. I have always sensed the person and presence of the Holy Spirit. I know my experience does not override the Word of God, but the Word of God to me presents a powerful case that the Jews will be in heaven with us.

All Israel who live by faith in God will know Jesus as the Messiah. What do you believe by the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit’s revelation? It will make all the difference in how we honor and bless Israel and the descendants of Abraham. I question, have the followers of Jesus misunderstood the Jews and Israel?

The foundational covenant with Abraham says that all who bless Israel will be blessed. (See Genesis 12:1-3.) In Matthew 25, Jesus makes it clear that the nations will be judged by how they treated the least of these. The Jews are the least of these in Scripture, whom God has chosen to bring forth the Messiah.

Why are the nations of the earth in our day divided into two camps, those who support Israel and those who hate Israel? These are the sheep nations as opposed to the goat nations of Matthew 25. Who will be with us in heaven? Those who have blessed Israel, not those who have cursed Israel.

Who will be in heaven, as written in the Book of Life? The Bible makes a strong case that the descendants of Abraham living by faith in God will be standing with us. To that I say, amen. {eoa}
