Jonathan Cahn, Author of ‘The Harbinger II: The Return,’ Reveals That Ancient Sin Is Replaying on American Soil

In a year of tremendous turmoil for our nation, Americans have been wondering: Are the challenges that we have been enduring a sign? What’s really behind the crisis of the coronavirus pandemic? And does dramatic judgment still lie ahead?

Author Jonathan Cahn, known around the world as the creator of one of this year’s biggest publishing successes, The Harbinger II: The Return, believes there are prophetic, biblical explanations for the many trials we’ve experienced this year.

In the U.S., Cahn says, “The ancient harbingers that warned of coming judgment have continued to manifest” on our soil. He urges that we boldly, bluntly acknowledge this—and return our lives to God.

In a recent interview with Shannon Scholten on Voice of Truth, Cahn discussed several of the key mysteries laid bare in The Harbinger II: The Return, including that of the potter’s field and its ties to COVID-19.

“There can be many causes of one event,” Cahn explained, referring to the pandemic. “But we also can’t overlook the cause of the supernatural and what God says. God allows judgment. He’s the God of mercy, but He allows things to wake up a nation. And what’s happened is a shaking and a wake-up call to America.”

Cahn noted that God used plagues as judgments—and cited the biblical words of the prophet Jeremiah (Jer. 7:30-31). “Jeremiah said that the judgment that came upon Israel, from sacrificing children in the potter’s field in the Valley of Hinnom, was going to come back upon them,” said Cahn. “It’s linked together—and America has followed the template of Israel’s fall. The ancient sin is replaying on American soil.” Referring to abortion, Cahn added, “The nation gave its blessing and sanction to the sacrificing of its most innocent by legalizing the killing of its unborn children—and celebrating the act.”

Cahn then explained the striking progression to the plague: “Which nation performs more abortions than any other nation? China. Where did the plague begin? China. Which nation has been the model, leading most of the world into abortion? America. America has killed more babies than most nations in the world, by far.”

And what nation has been hit harder by the plague than any other? “America,” Cahn continued. “Where in America is the abortion capitol? New York. What state was hit harder by the plague than any other? New York, where abortion on demand began in 1970. Then it spread across America. When the Supreme Court voted for the Uniform Abortion Act in 1973, it was based on the law that New York passed in 1970.”

All of this is why, urges Cahn, we must “pray and repent”—citing 2 Chronicles 7:14 as God’s directive on this: “If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
