The number of leaders speaking of a coming harvest seems to be increasing. We are also starting to hear reports of blow-your-mind salvation stories among young people. One of the latests stories comes from Pastor Brandon Naramore, Rock of Roseville, California, who recently shared with Adam Narciso on Jesus Movement Now on the Charisma Podcast Network. He gives a first-person account of the salvation story of one of his new believers.
“I’m on a mushroom trip, hoping to never wake up again. And I meet Jesus on this mushroom trip. He invites me to be a farmer in his harvest.”
Naramore laughs, “In the vision, he’s thinking, ‘Man, bro. I already farm weed, so it’s going to be easy, right?’ He’s thinking this is a literal farming job that Jesus is inviting him into. This is how Jesus called him to be part of his kingdom!”
So, Jesus appears to this young man during his drug trip and invites him to be a farmer in his harvest. No big deal, right?
It gets better.
“He accepts Jesus in this vision on a mushroom trip. Wakes up sober. He hears this voice tell him to go outside with a piece of bread and a bottle of water. This guy approaches him; it’s a neighbor who is intoxicated. He [the young man newly saved] gives him [the drunk neighbor] the water and the bread and leads him to the Lord. He literally got saved out of a mushroom trip and leads someone to the Lord!”
It was at this point in hearing the story for the first time that Naramore thought, “Lord, someone needs to mentor this kid. Someone needs to disciple him.”
Fittingly, the Lord replied, “You do it.”
“I don’t have time! I’m mentoring leaders and running this church,” Naramore argued.
Right then Naramore heard a specific word from the Lord, “Did Dan Mohler have time for Todd White?”
At that moment, Naramore entered into a mentorship relationship with this young man. He’s now deeply invested in his spiritual growth, and he continually marvels at the impact of this young man’s faith.
“Everywhere this kid goes, people get saved, healed and delivered,” Naramore says.
This young man has led his former drug dealer, former gang partner and their wives to the Lord.
“Recently they were all baptized as a family,” Naramore celebrates.
These stories of the harvest don’t come as a surprise to Naramore, who received a prophetic dream some weeks ago about an unusual harvest as well as an accompanying prophetic message to the church, “Get the house ready!” He believes this harvest is a first-fruits of a great harvest coming for America. Still, there’s a challenging question Naramore asks, “Is the church ready?”
