Are All People Considered Children of God?

Many Christians and pastors today believe we are all God’s children. This is a common misconception. Everyone is God’s creation, but everyone is not God’s child.

Jesus said in John 8:44a (KJV), “Ye are of your father the devil. And the lusts of your father ye will do.”

There are only two fathers. Many do not realize that if they have not received Jesus as their Lord and Savior, God is not their Father. By default, they come under the headship of the only other father, Satan.

Through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and His Resurrection, the gift of eternal life is available to everyone. When we turn to God, ask forgiveness for our sin and receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, only then do we become a child of the living God.
