Through The Roof: Doing Whatever it Takes to Intervene in an Addict’s Life!

So often when we see our friends or family in the destructive patterns of addiction, we find ourselves at a total loss as to what we should do. Should I mind my own business? Should I intervene with “tough love”? How can I actually help them out of their crisis situation? These questions often extend beyond the throes of addiction to crises of most any sort!

In Mark 2:1-12, we find a story where four men identified their friend’s need (he was a paralytic). They knew where his solution was found (at the feet of Jesus) and they literally went “through the roof” to get their friend to Jesus! Of course, he was healed and set free by the Lord. These guys were real friends because they were willing to “do whatever it takes” to find life for the one they loved! They overcame the obstacles and ignored the ridicule in order to intervene in their friend’s situation. We must absolutely do the same thing for our friends and family.

In this episode of Conquer Addiction, Ken Pounders and Skylar Linderman engage in a hard-hitting discussion about intervention in the lives of our loved ones. So often we mistakenly enable someone’s destructive lifestyle in the name of love and protection when in reality we need to intervene in the person’s life with the grace and power of the Lord. You will discover practical steps to do whatever it takes to see others go free. The Conquer Addiction podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network provides real answers to the drug epidemic.
