John Bevere is convinced every Christ follower and every child of God has a duty to which God has called them. But unlike many people’s perceptions, you don’t have to be a pastor or a worship leader or even a missionary.

Bevere, an international speaker, bestselling author and co-founder of Messengers International along with his wife, Lisa, says God has something for everyone. But, the one thing Bevere says God doesn’t want is for you to be a spectator in the kingdom. It’s an ideal that led him to write his latest book, X: Multiply Your God-Given Potential.

“Every single child of God has a calling on their life,” Bevere told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. “I don’t know that people really believe that. What I really wanted to do is show everyone the value of their calling. Everyone one of us are called to build the kingdom of God. Every one of us has a unique calling on their life.

“With that calling comes supernatural gits and abilities. And those abilities don’t work unless we know about them. We can do one of three things with those abilities: We can use them to build ourselves and our families. We can use them to build the kingdom. Or we can sit and do nothing.

“As a writer, I have connected my dots, and you see how my gifts and abilities connect in building the kingdom. The problem may be that you have not connected your dots. … I don’t care if you are a stay-at-home-mom. I don’t care if you’re the pastor of a rural church, if you’re in the marketplace, you’re a factory worker or a school teacher. You have a unique calling to build the kingdom, and what you’re doing is very significant.

“And you can’t do it the way you’re supposed to unless you operate in the supernatural gifting that God has placed on your life. … If the gift of God in you is dormant, you need to stir it up. The Bible makes it so clear that we need to get our gifts to operate so that we can impact our world. But remember, your calling is impossible to fulfill in your own ability.”
