Big IdeaChristmas in April? Not … wait for it … egg-xactly. Only the creators of VeggieTales can take Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, adapt it to Easter and make it work. Since 2004 An Easter Carol has sold more than 1 million copies, and the DVD has been relaunched just in time for Easter 2009. Parents can appreciate the wholesome message, and their children will enjoy being entertained while learning the meaning behind this special celebration.
Uncle Nezzer is in a frenzy trying to make Easter bigger and better, filling London with plastic eggs. But his mechanical chickens might go haywire with his over-the-top production demands. Cavis and Millward (Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber) and Hope, a music box (Rebecca St. James provides the voice), have to make Uncle understand that Easter means much more than candy and eggs.
This repackaged DVD includes bonus features such as the Easter Egg Hunt (played with DVD remote), a behind-the-scenes segment with St. James and so much more. Kids can also join the fun online with a game related to the story: http://www.bigideafun.com/veggietales/arcade/eggsperts/info.htm.
Watch the television premiere on Gospel Music Channel on DirecTV Channel 338 and local cable, April 10, 7 p.m. ET.
