The Political Battleground in America

In spite of the drastic decline of moral values in our country, many people believe that Christians should stay out of politics and government affairs. They think we ought to busy ourselves with sharing the gospel, and leave the politics to someone else.

While it’s true we want to be kingdom focused and share the Good News with the world, this doesn’t mean believers should remove themselves from decisions that affect the cities and states they reside in.

If Christians keep out of politics, who will oppose decisions that harm humanity as a whole? How about things that threaten religious freedom? Who else will defend moral causes?

We are witnessing unprecedented crimes against children, murders, riots, stealing, destruction of property and lawlessness all rooted in the rejection of God. Many of the leaders in power are ungodly and support laws that oppose God and His ways.

When was the last time our leaders humbled themselves and prayed 2 Chronicles 7:14 on behalf of our nation? It reads,If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Because the Western church has been asleep and uninvolved, we are now facing a concerted effort to rid Christianity from the earth altogether. Schools are teaching our children moralistic depravity. They are indoctrinating even the youngest with lies about gender, race, marriage and our country and its history.

When God is honored in a nation, prosperity, order, peace and safety dwell in the land. A lack of biblical identity and faith in God on the other hand, brings about confusion and destruction, blurring the lines between right and wrong.

As Christians, we want to be godly examples in this world, always looking for opportunities to share Christ. We should also have a desire to educate ourselves and know the laws and the leaders of our land. We must pray against evil and support people who possess an honest, Godly desire to serve us.

We must support those who protect and honor our hard won freedoms. We must examine the track record of any individual running for office, and vote accordingly. If a candidate supports issues that blatantly oppose biblical values, then we most definitely do not vote for them.

Ephesians 4:27 says, “Neither give place to the devil.” One way we give the enemy a place in our lives is when we vote for people and laws that oppose God’s Word. When you knowingly vote for someone who has voiced their support of abortion, LGBQT or any other anti-God movement, you have aligned with the devil and his agenda. That may sound harsh, but when you condone people, laws, and movements that oppose the Bible, you oppose God. Doing nothing also give s the enemy a place.

Jesus said in Luke 11:23, “He that is not with Me is against Me.” There is no middle ground in the battle for morality in this country. Separation of church and state was created to keep the state out of the church, not the church out of the state.

Let your voice be heard.
