The unusual herd of animals is back with a new adventure ahead. Mammoths Manny and Ellie are about to become parents. The saber-toothed tiger Diego isn’t quite sure how he fits in the group anymore. And Sid, the sloth, wants a family of his own.

Sid’s desire to be a “mommy” leads him to adopt three eggs he thinks were abandoned. But he gets into trouble when the real mom, a dinosaur, comes looking for her kids. Sid’s friends venture into the unknown to rescue him.

They have some close encounters in the prehistoric world, but they get some much-needed help from a zealous weasel named Buck.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs has it all: a good plot, humor, adventure and charm. The silly antics will keep kids intrigued, and parents will appreciate the humorous lines that go over kids’ heads but still are in good taste. This movie even demonstrates a great message about friendship. Very young children might be frightened by some of the close-up images of dinosaurs, but overall this is an enjoyable and acceptable film for all ages.
