How This Evangelist Brings Healing Through His Film Ministry

“Powerless Christianity is not an option,” is a quote on the Art Thomas Ministries website.

Thomas is a missionary-evangelist who travels throughout the world, training and equipping Christians to move in the power of Jesus Christ. What makes his ministry so very special is that he has no interest in being in the spotlight up on a platform as the “healing guru” in front of whom others must form a long prayer line.

His method is, instead, to lay a solid teaching foundation from Scripture that miraculous healing is real and is for today, and then he gets the “whole room” up on its feet to heal one another. “If I have to come back,” Thomas says, “I haven’t done my job.”

He sees his job as a way to truly equip the saints with passion and sincerity.

In order to accomplish that, Thomas made a movie called Paid in Full, a documentary on healing. Its making began as a way to help a young man in his young adult ministry group finish a college project of having to add music to a film.

“We had no idea how to make a film,” says Thomas. But what resulted was an extraordinary documentation of Christian healing with people like Daniel Kolenda of Christ for All Nations; Chris Gore, head of Bethel’s healing ministry; and so many others. Not only that, God provided and supplied them with everything they needed, including funding.

Scene after scene of the marvelous healing of so many people in office buildings, on the street, in churches and so on fill the film’s first hour. In the last half-hour, there is a stream of teaching to equip the viewers to walk out and “go and do likewise.”

Paid in Full is not Thomas’ only movie. He also made one called The Voice of God which enables viewers to hear God better and to move in prophecy. The theme of setting people free to speak for God is a much-needed equipping for the body of Christ in this hour.

In these troubled times of the coronavirus, where people are infected far more with the spirit of fear than even the virus, the teaching of healing and the extending of the healing ministry is absolutely a blessing and a need.

We must have fresh teaching, fresh impartation of healing ministry and powerful, Spirit-filled encounters for such a time as this. People need the Lord.
