Catherine Galasso-Vigorito’s mission in life is to encourage and inspire others. She carries out this calling with many roles. She is a wife and mother to three daughters. She is the author of several books, and for the last 15 years she has written the syndicated weekly column “A New You.” Through her company, A New You Worldwide, she develops and designs inspirational products and is dedicated to “instilling hope in the hearts of people everywhere.” Her products include Grace Line dinnerware, which has a phrase printed on each dish to help people know what to pray before their meals; and ornaments and jewelry, all of which she sells through QVC.

Galasso-Vigorito’s desire to help others began in part as a result of her mother’s sudden death. She says inspirational words and passages from the Bible literally helped her survive.

She realized that she could help others with encouraging words, and she started reaching out to people through her column. It has evolved since then. She continues to inspire with her new book, God Will Do the Rest: 7 Keys to the Desires of Your Heart.

She says to achieve the success and joy that God wants for us we must do our part and allow Him to do the rest. Her seven keys are faith, persistence, optimisim, hope, gratitude, love and forgiveness. In her book, she offers stories of regular people who relied on their faith. “When you have nowhere else to turn, inspiration and stories from the Bible and reading about people who have overcome tremendous heartache can give you the strength to be able to overcome your own challenges.”

“We can’t look at the closed door,” she adds.

Especially in today’s times, she says, people need more inspiration. “They need to be directed to the source, and the source for me is God and His Son, Jesus. … If we could direct people there, then they could open up the Bible and find passages that speak directly to their heart so they can hold onto when the going gets tough, as it does for all of us.”

She also wants people to realize that God has a plan for everyone, an ongoing plan. She reminds us to not feel discouraged if our plans don’t at first succeed. “We learn more from the mistakes that we make along the way … than when things are just all rosy.”

Galasso-Vigorito says her calling is to give people hope and encouragement. She says that if just one person can be helped by this book, then she has done what she has been called to do, “and God will do the rest.”
